Hi all, Kit here! Long time no blog. Since the rest of the girls were at camp today, Bella and I got to hang out for the afternoon.
"I can't believe you've never ridden a scooter before!" I laughed as I helped Bella get on.
"I know, I know. I've just never had the opportunity to learn before!" she smiled.
"Don't worry, I'll be here every step of the way," I assured her.
"Put your hands there to steer, and then kick off." I said, showing Bella where to put her hands and feet.
"Thanks!" she replied happily.
"You're doing it!" I let go of the handlebars after guiding her down the street for some time.
"I'm doing it - I'm doing it!!" Bella squealed.
In all the excitement, neither one of us noticed where Bella was heading - straight for a rock!
"Look out!" I yelled, but it was too late.
Bella crashed to the ground, face-first.
"Ow." I heard her say.
"Let me help you up," I said, rushing over.
"Thanks," Bella replied, dusting herself off. "Now c'mon, help me get back on!"
"The only way for me to learn is to try again!" she laughed as I helped her onto the scooter.
I was a little surprised, considering scootering isn't typically one of Bella's favorite pastimes, but I admired her determination. By the end of the day, she was nearly a pro!
We walked back to our house and sat down on the bench, talking and laughing.
Until next time! :)
