Penny's Trip to AZ--Part Two!

Penny here, again! Here is my trip to Arizona, part two.
Read part one here

~~~
The next day we drove up to the Grand Canyon! It was absolutely gorgeous--and huge. They don't call it the "Grand" Canyon for nothing! Everywhere I looked I could see it.
Isn't it beautiful?
Look how tiny I am compared to it! I always feel small (I am only 18 inches tall!) but this made me feel  even littler. :)
TADA! I was actually a bit afraid of falling into the Grand Canyon, but my person made sure I'd stay close to her. :)
You might not be able to tell in the pictures, but it was actually very windy despite the heat. I had to stop to rest a few times and I could hear the breeze echoing off the canyon!
Really though, isn't it gorgeous?
Doesn't this rock formation look like a llama?
I walked down the path a bit more to find the observation deck.
In the observation deck I could touch some of the different rocks at the bottom of the canyon, and learn about a few of them, too!
Here I am! I'm standing among the layers of the canyon.
I also got a cool little sticker before heading off to lunch. :)
After lunch we headed down to this museum-y like house where they used to make movies! I did get a little nervous once I saw how close to the edge it was, but thankfully there was a safety gate so no one could fall in.
I explored the museum and even found some of the cameras and equipment the filmmakers used to use years and years ago. In this picture I'm sitting on a film case! (it was in a glass box, though. ^_^)
I posed for one last picture before we left the Grand Canyon, but boy, it sure was an experience I'll never forget! Standing on the edge I peered into the canyon, drilling the view into my head so I'd never forget it.
Well, that's it for part two! Stay tuned for my final post of my vacation!
  4. Wow. It's amazing to think that a river carved out all that rock.
    That must trip have been so fun and awe- inspiring.
